Like in pretty much all the GNU/Linux distributions that I have used on my Dell Vostro laptop, ‘LMDE 2014 Cinnamon‘ too turns ON Bluetooth on each desktop login which it irritates me because I do not use Bluetooth, and I always have to manually turn it OFF, for saving power.
This however can be easily fixed, and if you are facing the same problem, then you can follow the below ‘Steps’ for fixing it.
Step 1: Open up the Terminal emulator and enter the below command.
sudo gedit /etc/rc.local
Once it is opened in the ‘gedit’ text editor, copy and paste the below command above the existing ‘exit 0′ entry (shown in the below screenshot).
rfkill block bluetooth
That is it. Now reboot your computer and you should now see Bluetooth turned OFF, every time you login to the ‘Cinnamon’ desktop.
