Few days ago I wrote a Unity desktop customizer called MyUnity and it seems that the developers have updated it with re-designed UI and have added few more options that can come in handy for Netbook users, etc.
*. For instance, now under “launcher” we can change the icon sizes and adjust transparency levels manually (where in the recent past we had few transparency settings such as half, optimal etc).
*. Under “Dash” now we can adjust the size using “Desktop” or “Netbook”, depending on your needs.
*. “Panel” has also received a manual transparency level changer with a slider.
*. The “Font” section is also updated and in comparison with the older version I like the new UI which is newbie friendly plus looks clean too.
You can install MyUnity in Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot, 12.04 and 11.04 Natty Narwhal by using the below commands in your Terminal window.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:myunity/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install myunity
Yep that should do it. But remember, other than the desktop icons, most of these settings won’t work in the Unity 2D.
