Add a Progress Bar Style to Your Firefox Downloads with “Statusbar”

Firefox is a pretty secure, stable and trustworthy web browser that many are still quite fond of (including myself 🙂 ). But there are few areas that I’m not quite fond of and file downloading feature is one example.

For instance, by default when you download something through Firefox, unlike with Chromium or Google Chrome (curse you Google! :P), we just can’t see the progress of the downloading file (unless of course you go to: “Tools” -> “Downloads”).

So wouldn’t it be nice that if we could just easily see a progress-bar of our current downloading files at the bottom of our web browser ??, if so … perhaps many have already heard of it but if you haven’t, then you should try this add-on called Statusbar!.

Main features…

*. It lets you do more than just display the status actually using the “Preferences window”. You can customize it to display things like: Change colors depending on the downloading speeds, adds %, shows a history window, full & and mini modes etc.

*. Add file types that you don’t want to be shown in the status bar.

*. Downloads files even after the browser is closed.

*. Scan for viruses after downloading completes.

*. Play sounds when completes.

*. Change colors and other style related settings.

*. Supports 3.6, 4, 5 all the way up to Firefox 8.0.

Yup, that’s pretty much it.
