How to Make Gnome Shell Show Battery remaining time and percentage ? (using an ‘Extension’ )

I don’t know about you, but as a laptop user who uses the Gnome Shell, I get quite frustrated by the fact that, I have to click the small Battery icon on the ‘Top-Bar’, every time I want to see how much ‘remaining time’ my battery has left.

In the ‘Gnome Classic’ desktop, there was an option which enabled showing the remaining battery time, but with Gnome Shell, there’s nothing!. But then again, one thing that’s praise worthy about Gnome Shell is, one can add some of these ‘missing features’ by using ‘Shell-Extensions’ with ease anyway.

So, if you’ve been looking for a way to make Gnome Shell shows you the ‘battery remaining time’ and the remaining time till it’s fully charged (when using AC, of course), then you might wanna try this extension called ‘battery-remaining-time’.

Just like with any other Shell extension, the installation is pretty simple.

Just go to this page and then move the slider to your right, until you see the option/status ‘ON’. Then a message box will appear and you’ll be asked to authorize the installation, for that, simply click on the ‘Install’ button.

And as soon as you do that, you should see it in action as shown in the first screenshot ;-). That’s it!.
